My fear to confront everyday life situations has transcended to my blog. This used to be the place where I could complain as ignorantly & impetuously as I wanted. This has never been about "work". No one is allowed to suggest me to write more intensely, or productively; no one is allowed to suggest me to "do more" & "stop feeling sorry for myself"; because, even if I did feel sorry for myself (need I say?), this is my blog to do that & more. Plus, if you read my title it says, "Rantings..." —it does not say, "Tractatum Profundus Vitae".

Why should they all survive?
Some are destined to be eaten;
some are destined to drown.
Not everyone will survive.

Why should they?

I belong to those who
will die in the journey.
who cares?

Not everyone has to survive.

Naivete in certain internet users bewilders me. Why they believe they may hooliganize a blog, or any other cyber resource with no consequences is beyond me; this is the twenty-first century after all. Regardless of what they may have seen in films, no hacker remains in anonymity forever...

"It is quite an illusion to imagine that one adjusts to reality essentially without the use of language and that language is merely an incidental means of solving specific problems of communication or reflection."

~Edward Sapir (as quoted by Benjamin Whorf in Language, Thought, and Reality)

Values wafted; xanax

Whenever I fail to post anything, I refuse to read other blogs. It is sort of a punishment on my Self. Somehow I feel as though it were not fair; I already feel as though what I offer were not enough; let alone when I miss a day. It feels as though I were betraying an exchange code: "You are allowed to see as long as I am allowed to see as well".

Sometimes I read without reading. It is not until five pages later that I notice only my eyes and hands are on the book...I need to focus.

"...the vanity of trying to say anything about anyone."

To Jean

"The rampant, totally mystifying force of contradiction. I understand now that each fact is nullified by the next fact, that each thought engenders an equal and opposite thought. Impossible to say anything without reservation..."

"It is a nostalgia for his own life that he feels, perhaps, a memory of his own boyhood as a son to his father. Inexplicably, he finds himself shaking at that moment with both happiness and sorrow, if this is possible, as if he were going both forward and backward, into the future and into the past. And there are times, often there are times, when these feelings are so strong that his life no longer seems to dwell in the present."

"Things are inert: they have meaning only in function of the life that makes use of them. When that life ends, the things change, even though they remain the same. They are there and yet not there: tangible ghosts, condemned to survive in a world they no longer belong to."

"I know I'll say something that's halfway clever but mostly shallow and probably inaccurate on some level. Then you'll pity me for having been born."
