Should she cry
for help

Posted by Nietzsche's Wife @ 11:00 PM

The sort of alter I that has possessed her, has no esteem whatsoever; neither physical, nor intellectual. She has never thought highly of herself. She constantly thinks, "I am not worth it." Say nothing. Words are wasted on her. She is an unbeliever. She hardly believes her own discourse. She could not be further from believing those who do not share the same code & the same degree of madness.

"As real as thinking..."

As real as thinking
wonders created
by the possibility—

forms. A period
at the end of a sentence

began it was
into a present,
a presence

as it goes.

No forms less
than activity.

All words—

or happening
is an event only
for the observer?

"If in the new world the crippled or the infirm or the homeless wish to eat from rubbish bins and spread their bedroll in the nearest entranceway, let them do so: let them huddle tight, and if they wake up alive the next morning, good on them."

"How quaint, how positively antique, to believe one will be advised, when the time comes, to put one's soul in order. What beings could possibly be left, in what corner of the universe, interested in checking all the deathbed accountings that ascend the skies, debits in the one column, credits in the other?"

To Whom It May Concern

"A rule that is almost always valid: never refute or answer a critic, no matter how preposterous the criticims may be. Do not let the critic teach you the cloth, as they say in bullfighting circles."

World To Be Stuttered By Heart

in which
I shall have been a guest, a name
sweated down from the wall
a wound licks up.

We Habitually Assume the Mind

corrupts the flesh
the animal being innocent by nature
the mind an entity devious
and dark in its subtle motives

but perhaps the body also harbors
sinister designs upon us
that require unnoticeable decades to develop

of course no one trusts the gonads
but what about the biceps
the tarsal......the clavicle.....the ulna
the mute army of vertebrae

the hips are often the first to betray
the knees not dependable in the least

the mind in anguish receives no sympathy
from any body part
they all mope and whine and gripe
usually about mere inconvenience
even during the dark night of the soul

the body is so voluble
about its needs and wants
it is hard to realize it must be sitting here
silently plotting one's death

Quiet as is proper for such places;
The street, subdued, half-snow, half-rain,
Endless, but ending in the darkened doors.
Inside, they who will be there always,
Quiet is as proper for such people—
Enough for now to be here, and
To know my door is one of these.

~Robert Creeley, Selected Poems (1996)

Because sometimes rats fall off the roof...

The first three photos are of a mural by Banksy, located on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. The following three photos are of a street mural done in electrical tape (by myself and partner-in-vandalism the_bone on New Year's Day 2007), depicting a "crime scene"-style victim sketch of the same rat following an unfortunate fall from the top of the building.

[Photos by the_bone; mine will be posted soon]
