"After knowing what seethes within them, I do not dare to look at the people too closely, for they seem a bit artificial, like robots, parts of concrete and electric wiring."

"Une morale nue apporte de l'ennui: Le conte fait passer le précepte avec lui. En ces sortes de feintes il faut instruire et plaire, Et conter pour conter me semble peu d'affaire."

Doctor says I must not kiss Mirrimause because she is covered with mites. But so am I. And so is my carpet. And so is the dust I breathe and swallow. I am not concerned. At all.

side note

You belong to the stone. I had never seen a man so sadly and deeply and monolingually rooted. Nothing to be done.

Feeling much better now. Still sick.

Currently translating G. Stubbe. Completely surreal.

It is all negative space. It is all vases; it is all silhouettes. At the same time.

Upset. I fear I will end up writing a thesis on why I can write a thesis on zombies instead of a thesis on zombies. As a friend of mine said, it would be nice if I actually wrote a zombie thesis as opposed to one on how I am slowly turning into one.

It is 4 p.m. but the colors of this day are dark. Still cannot breathe. Nasal congestion kept me awake all night. Drowning must feel like this. I am highly medicated. Memories are vague. It is hard to distinguish if certain events are being lived, dreamed, or remembered.

Struggling to find meaning. Struggling to define. There are moments when every single word means everything thus nothing. And I am torn. And I feel unhinged.

As He Says

"Myth does not deny things, on the contrary, its function is to talk about them; simply, it purifies them, it makes them innocent, it gives them a natural and eternal justification, it gives them a clarity which is not that of an explanation but that of a statement of fact."

~Roland Barthes, "Myth Today" in Mythologies
