Asininity

To speak I try; I swear I do. I try really hard to express my laconic opinion. Nothing comes out. I thus delude myself into thinking that my not speaking is all right. After all, some people have lengthier opinions than others. We do not share the same code —even if I spoke— they would never understand anyway. And everything boils down to me throwing a tantrum and sticking my tongue out on people.

"The old stories, old mysteries, old sacraments, however important—indeed, of whatever central importance—can serve only to wither and blacken the souls of human beings."

I, my despised fellow, need nothing from you. No redemption. No understanding. No acceptance. No forgiveness. And, most definitely, not a thesis.

"And yet there still seems to be a powerful need in many (most?) people to believe in literal evil, good, God, heaven, and hell. Terms we might interpret as metaphorical have acquired an eerie Platonic realism."
